New Delhi: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will soon release newly designed notes of Rs 100 denomination, with some changes in both side of note announced on Tuesday.
However, the old notes will continue to be valid the bank has said.
As per information the RBI will shortly issue Rs 100 notes in Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005, without inset in both the numbering panels.
Both the new notes will bear the signature of RBI Governor Urijit Patel and the year of printing 2016 will be mentioned on the reverse side of the notes.
Notably, Earlier on Sunday the RBI announced to release the new notes Rs 50 and Rs 20 denomination. The RBI’s announcement comes less than a month after the government scrapped Rs 500 and Rs 2000 notes.
