Bhubaneswar: Touring New Zealanders put up a good score on board with a first innings display of 260/7 thanks to a fighting 72 from Martin Guptill during the fourth ODI between India and black caps held at Ranchi on Wednesday.
The black caps won the toss for the first time in last matches and elected to bat first.
With a quick 80 runs off first 10 overs New Zealand look poised to make the match a daunting one for the Indians. After first wicket partnership of 96 runs the momentum of New Zealanders also continued with some good contribution from Wiliamson and Taylor.
But with introduction of spinners the game turned towards the favour of hosts as the visitors lost wickets after regular interval. The pick of the bowlers were Amit Mishra with a brace for 42 runs in his ten overs.
With the series up in the favour of hosts leading by 2-1 the men in blue will look to start well when they open the second innings.
