Bhubaneswar: In view of the heavy rain forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik ordered that all anganwadi centres across the state will remain closed tomorrow.
Keeping in view the safety of children, all anganwadi centres across the state will remain closed tomorrow. Besides, all schools in Bhubaneswar will also remain closed tomorrow due to the heavy rain prediction.
The collectors will take decision whether the schools to remain shut or not in their respective districts after assessing the rain situation, sources said.
Notably, the IMD regional centre on Thursday predicted heavy rain for 25 districts of Odisha with the depression over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal and north coastal Odisha moving slightly westwards and intensifying into deep depression.
The Met predicted that rain/ thundershowers is very likely to occur at most places over districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours and at many places in subsequent 24 hours.
