Mumbai: Former Rajya Sabha MP Pyari Mohan Mohapatra is critical and is on ventilator support as per sources. He has been under treatment at Hinduja hospital here for lung cancer.
A former BJD leader and close aide of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, often known as his ‘Chanakya’, Pyari fell apart from BJD after an alleged coup to overthrow Naveen in June, 2012.
The former bureaucrat formed his independent party, Odisha Jana Morcha and was serving as an MP in Rajya Sabha where his term ended on July 1, 2016.
The veteran politician has not been keeping well since the last few weeks and has been in ICU.
