Puri: The Justice BP Das Commission, that has been set up to restructure the administration and operation of the Puri temple, is all set to suggest action plan for reforms in rituals and proper management of the Jagannath temple. The Commission has submitted its first interim report to the State Government on Thursday.
Secretary BP Das submitted the report of about 1000 pages to Law Minister Arun Sahoo in Bhubaneswar. The Commission was constituted in July last year after the Niladri Bije fiasco during which servitors misbehaved with Puri Collector and some journalists.
Although the details of the report were not revealed, sources said the commission has suggested implementing certain measures for both district administration and police for proper management of the temple as well as smooth functioning of rituals of the deities.
The commission was also learnt to have suggested measures for safety and security of the devotees visiting the 12th-Century shrine. Among others, the commission has also suggested for stringent actions against erring servitors, who indulge in indiscipline.
