Bhubaneswar: Passengers of the Puri-Lokmanyatilak Express had a close shave on Wednesday as the Mumbai-bound train took a wrong route from the Raja Athagarh station and was again diverted to Dhenkanal due to the alleged negligence of the Station Master.
The Railways suspended the Station Master for negligence of duty following a report. “Prima facie it seems a grave human error. A probe has been ordered into the incident,’’ said an ECoR spokesperson.
After taking the wrong track, the train ran till Radhakishorepur from where it was diverted back to Dhenkanal and took its scheduled route. The incident occurred on the day when Azamgarhg-Delhi Kaifiyat Express derailed in UP, injuring 50 passengers. Four days ago, Kalinga Utkal Express derailed at Muzzafarnagar in UP killing 23 and injuring 50, many from Odisha.
