Puri: The Suara and Mahasuara Nijog will continue the sale of Mahaprasad of Lord Jagannath at Ananda Bazar on the temple premises, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) informed today.
The SJTA and the Nijog had held a meeting regarding the hygienic and hassle-free sale and purchase of the Mahaprasad which took the decision.
‘Each item entering the Shree Mandir will be strictly checked’, and no use nor sale of adulterated ghee is allowed in the temple premises, warned the temple administration.
However, the sale of Tanka Torani at Ananda Bazar has been banned by the SJTA, said an official of SJTA.
We are trying to streamline Ananda Bazar so that devotees in large numbers can have the pious Mahaprasad of Lord Jagannath in a clean and hygienic environment, said SJTA chief administrator Pradeep Jena.
By the decision more Suara and Mahasuara servitors will be able to sell Mahaprasad in a hassle-free manner. They have been told to submit a blueprint on the proper procedure of sale of Mahaprasad, he added.
The meeting was successful and we will dedicatedly co-operate with the temple administration, said the president of Suara and Mahasuara Nijog, Damodar Mahasuara after the discussion.
