New Delhi: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday met Congress President Sonia Gandhi at her residence here.
JD (U) used the meeting to call for a joint Opposition candidate for the election to the President’s post and urged Gandhi to take the lead in the matter, as per sources.
Nitish Kumar also discussed demonetisation as well as EVM issues and JDU’s stand.
A common opposition candidate for President would begin the process. The presidential elections are due in July when the term of President Pranab Mukherjee ends.
