Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi is likely to visit the 11th century Lingaraj temple here during his two-day Odisha tour to attend the BJP national executive here. Modi who often visits temples, wherever he goes, may visit the 11th century shrine on April 16.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has already enquired regarding the security arrangements and possible routes that the PM will take if he decides to spare some time for visiting the temple.
During his last visit to Odisha, while he was here for the inauguration if IOCL’s Paradip refinery in February last year, Modi had visited the 12th Century Lord jagannath temple in Puri.
BJP sources said as the PM won’t have a public meeting, the party is planning to connect many people with programmes since from the moment of PM’s landing here on April 15 afternoon till he leaves the state next evening. A chain a supporters would greet the PM from the Biju Patnaik International Airport to the Party’s national executive venue at Janata Maidan where he would arrive in a road show.
As per BJP, 3 places have been chosen for rousing welcome bids and a makeshift PMO will function at the national executive venue.
