Umarkote: In yet another instance of plastic eggs being sold here came into light after one Khagapati Bhatra of village Bhamini under the Umarkote police station on Wednesday morning bought some eggs from a village shop and put them in boiling water.

He only realised that the eggs were fake when he tried to cook them and found a layer of plastic in the eggs. The yolk and the whites were very different from the normal eggs. He immediately rushed to the shop and lodged a complaint.

A team of mediapersons visited to the village and brought the matter to the notice of the local administration.

On the other hand, the shop owner said the eggs available in the Umarkote market and its nearby villagers were supplied from Andhra Pradesh and he had nothing do with such artificial eggs supply.

If these eggs are found to be life-threatening, offenders may face major punishments like life imprisonment and a huge fine, said a member of the Umarkote Bar.
