Balikuda: In a bid to make students aware of the significance of trees and its impact on the ecosystem, the Indian oil Corporation limited (IOCL)’s South Eastern Region Pipelines embarked Swachh Bharat Mission with plantation programme at Borikina High School under Balikuda block in Jagatsinghpur district.
Among the dignitaries, South Eastern Region Pipelines Executive Director Shri PC Choubey, GM (HR) Shri S Patnaik, Chief HR Manager Shri SK Samal, Officer (CSR) Mr Amrit Anishul Swain and HR officer Mr Siddhant Balburma were present during the programme. The IOCL officials stressed over the need of plantation and made students aware of the importance of keeping the school premises clean and hygienic.
Encouraging the students towards joining hands for a Swachh Bharat, a debate and essay competition was held following which winners were awarded with respective prizes.
Besides, in order to give a push to the students in adopting the Swachh practice on a daily basis, 10 garbage bins were donated by the IOCL.
However, the plantation drive and awareness programme on Swachh Bharat Mission was conducted in the school premises by the active coordination of former students Ranjan Acharya, Bhimsen Muduli and Biranarayan Patra.
