Bhubaneswar: The prices of petrol and diesel have been slashed by Rs. 3.77 and Rs. 2.91 per litre with effect from Friday midnight.
In a statement, Indian Oil Corporation has said that petrol price will be cut by Rs 3.77 per litre, excluding state levies. Actual decrease will be larger after taking into account the local levies. Similarly, the diesel price was cut by Rs 2.91, excluding state levies.
It also mentioned that the current level of international product prices of petrol and diesel and INR-USD exchange rate warrant decrease in selling price of petrol and diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price revision.
The last fuel price revision was on January 15 when the petrol price was hiked by 42 paisa per litre and diesel by Rs 1.03 per litre, respectively.
