Bhubaneswar: Spending cash extravagantly that they had looted from the staff of a bakery unit a week ago landed two robbers in trouble after a special team of Commissionerate Police arrested them and two others in connection woth the Rs 13 lakh robbery from the staff of Paris Bakery.
The accused has been identified as Chandan Dehury, Sikan Moharana, Sushant Behera and Raja Swain. The cash flow came into the notice of police after Chandan distributed new clothes in Salia Sahi and Sikan gifted a two-wheeler to his girlfriend.
The loot had taken place on October 10 under Chandaka police limits. All of the four accused are residents of Salia Sahi.
According to reports, the accused had intercepted two staff of Paris Bakery near Bhuasuni Temple and snatched away Rs 13 lakh at gun-point.
Police received information that Chandan, who had walked out of jail recently, was distributing clothes in Salia Sahi as part of his Robinhood acts. Similarly, the news of Sikan’s extravagant ways also reached the cops.
A joint operation by Chandaka Police and Quick Action Team (QAT) went after the miscreants and rounded them up. Police recovered Rs 1.8 lakh, two motorcycles used in the crime along with the new two-wheeler purchased by Sikan. New garments worth Rs 30,000 purchased by Chandan were also seized.
