Bhubaneswar: Two teams of Patnagarh police on Sunday headed to Raipur after the cops found that one ‘RK Sharma’ had sent the parcel bomb as a gift that killed the newlywed youth Soumya Sekhar Sahu and his grandmother Jenamani and critically injured Rimarani Sahu at Patnagarh in Bolangir district on February 23.
While the incident has sent shock waves across the state, the police have gone to Raipur’s Sky King Courier office, from where the parcel weighing over 2 kg was reportedly sent.
Meanwhile, deceased Soumya Sekhar’s father Rabindra Sahu urged Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to order for a CBI probe probe to find out the culprits and punish them. He reportedly told police that no one named RK Sharma is known to his family.
Though it was still not clear whether the sender used his real identity or provided a fake name in sending the parcel, further investigation in this connection was on.
Both Soumya Sekhar and Jenamani died on Friday. Rimarani, who was admitted to the VIMSAR, Burla, in a critical condition, has now been shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. She has sustained over 36 per cent burn injuries.
