Maharashtra: More than a month back, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali was attacked and his set was vandalised by local activists group Karni Sena in Jaipur’s ‘Jaigarh Fort’ over Padmavati filming. Now latest the horrific incident has been repeated.
The set of Padmavati in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, was attacked and set on fire by an unidentified group who oppose the film.
Property and costumes have been damaged and the fire was reportedly doused early this morning. No injuries have been reported and Bhansali is safe, as per sources.
As per sources, some unidentified men tried to vandalise the sets and set it on fire. The men, armed with lathis and stones, stormed into the sets and started destroying the property. Reportedly, a few cars parked outside the sets were also damaged.
A report was filed with the police on Wednesday morning, and a few have been arrested in the case.
Padmavati stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmini and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji. Shahid Kapoor plays Padmini’s husband Ratan Singh which is scheduled to release on 17 November 2017.
