Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths on Friday have conducted simultaneous raid on the establishments s of an Assistant Project Manager of Odisha Police Housing and Welfare Corporation (OPHWC), named Bikram Keshari Malla on allegations of acquisition and possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Malla is currently posted in Bhubaneswar. The sleuths raided his triple-storied house at Lingaraj Vihar in Pokhariput, double storied building at Subhashnagar in Hathipathar area of Rayagada district, paternal house at Kalikeswarpur at kendrapara, his office at Bhubaneswarand his rented house at Pokhariput area, here in the city.
During the raid, sleuths have unearthed assets amounting to more than a crore of rupees in the name of Malla and his family members. The assets included, Triple-storied house at Lingaraj Vihar worth Rs 58.54 lakh, double storied building at Rayagada worth Rs 21.39 lakh, land plots at various placesin Bhubaneswar and Rayagada worth Rs 22.49 lakh, cash of Rs 78,000, gold ornaments worth Rs 60,000, household items worth Rs 5 lakh, one car worth Rs 4.5 lakh, one scooty worth Rs 60,000, amount in bank accounts in Malla and his family members worth Rs 6.66 lakh, life insurance worth Rs 2.62 lakh and deposits on other insurance schemes.
The anti-corruption agency has unearthed assets worth Rs 1 crore in Malla’s and his family members’ names. A DA case has been registered and further investigation is on, a senior Vigilance official said.
