Cuttack: The Odisha Police will launch Operation Paree-II —a month-long drive to rescue and rehabilitate Odisha’s missing children—from September 1, informed Crime Branch (CB) DG Santosh Kumar Upadhyay on Tuesday.
The special drive, earlier known as ‘Operation Muskan’ will be launched by the CB of Odisha Police in association with the Women and Child Development Department (W&CD).
In a statement to the media, Upadhyay said that ‘Operation Paree II’ will begin from Sept 1 to trace the missing children of the state within and outside the state.
The first phase of the drive to rescue the missing children will be held within the state from Sept 1 to 15. In the second phase the rescue teams will trace missing children in other parts of the country from September 16 to 30. Besides, all district police will be actively involved in this special drive, Upadhyay further said.
Recently, the Odisha police had launched ‘Paree Pain Katha Tiye’ a State-wide awareness campaign against child sexual abuse. Fifteen vans named as ‘Paree Express’ covered all 30 districts of the state from May 28 to June 12 this year.
