Cuttack: Odisha Vigilance in its special drive has launched 7 dedicated phone lines for complaint against corruption.
Now people can lodge complaint by dialing these numbers if they will be asked for bribe in different rural housing schemes, said Odisha Vigilance Director Dr RP Sharma, while Addressing a press conference here on Thursday.
In order to have further deterrent effect and initiation of instant action and also to raise public awareness, 7 land line telephones have been dedicated in different Vigilance divisions including Vigilance Directorate, which are in operation from 8.00 AM to 8.00PM.
The dedicated telephone numbers are: Vigilance Headquarters: 0671-2305988, Cuttack: 0671-2305682, Bhubaneswar: 0674-2397748, Berhampur: 0680-2282300, Sambalpur: 0663-2412115, Balasore: 06782-255005, Koraput: 06854-233330.
The special drive has been initiated with the objective to contain and minimise corrupt practices in the rural housing schemes.
Besides, in the ongoing special drive conducted by the state Vigilance against the alleged corrupt practices in the rural housing schemes, so far, as many as 37 cases have been registered, Dr Sharma said.
The probe is being conducted into 76 allegations and 48 complaints are being verified, he added.
Notably, the special drive came after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s direction for zero tolerance against ‘PC Culture’ (corruption) in block levels.
