Bhubaneswar: During the question hour in Odisha Assembly yesterday, Panchayati Raj Minister Pradip Maharathi said the deserved candidates in rural area will soon get the permanent houses as per the new SECC list.
While answering to the question raised by Congress legislator Chandrasekhar Majhi in the assembly, Maharathi said, “We have received around 39.5 lakh applications after the verification of new SECC list and it will be sent to the respective blocks starting next month.”
Both the schemes PMAY and BPGY were deeply criticized by opposition party and ruling party as well, for their snail pace processing of work.
Maharathi said, the Governor will definitely take action against the GRSs involved in corruption (not getting transferred), if the same will be provided by the BDOs in writing.
“Government is providing funds to the blocks which are running short of money, after the BDOs send the same in writing to the government through the Project Director of the concerned block,” he added.
