Bhubaneswar: Observing the wide utility of social media in exposing unlawful and crime related incidents, Odisha police sets an e-platform for swift redressal of public grievances.
After receiving a flood of posts on Chief Minister’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, Director General of Police (DGP) of the state, KB Singh today directed all Superintendents of Police, Range IGs and DIGs to open Twitter and Facebook accounts for their respective range and districts to address the issues.
He also directed the concerned officials to initiate immediate action after receiving complaints on social media.
All the Twitter handles and Facebook accounts will be linked up with the Twitter and Facebook account of the Chief Minister.
“The district superintendents of police have been directed to regularly follow up the Twitter and Facebook accounts of the Chief Minister and State Police Headquarters and retweet it for further action taken on the complaints lodged in the official page,” said Singh.
