Bhubaneswar: The glorious memory of Paika Bidroha will be preserved. Odisha government today set an estimated budget of Rs 50 crore in a preparatory meeting in this regard was held at the state secretariat here.
On the occasion of the 200th year of the rebellion, oil-paintings on the Paika Rebellion will be drawn at the State Museum here and wall painting will be drawn in Khurdha and Barunei.
Besides, a Paika Park Market Complex will be inaugurated in Khurdha town.
The meeting under the chairmanship of Tourism & Culture Minister Ashok Panda decided to spend only Rs 8 crore of the Rs 10 crore sanctioned by the Union government for setting up of a Paika Smruti Bhawan.
A wall painting on the history of Paika Bidroha will be drawn at Barunei with oil-painting of 50 episodes in Odisha State Museum, said Ashok Panda.
