Odisha Government transfers 32 IPS officers in major reshuffle


Bhubaneswar: In a major reshuffle in IPS cadre, the state government on Wednesday transferred 32 IPS officers under which 19 districts got new Superintendent of Police (SP).

According to a notification issued by the state Home Department, 1988-batch IPS Manoj Kumar Chabra and S M Narvane (1989 batch) swapped their positions as additional director general (ADG) at Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA) here and Odisha Human Rights Commission respectively.

1995-batch IPS Radha Kishan Sharma has been given the key charge of Inspector General (IG), Economic Offence Wing (EOW) under Crime Branch with additional charge of Special Task Force. Arun Bothra (1996), who was serving in the position, has been transferred as IG, Railways.

Among the other top cops, Susanta Kumar Nath, a 1993-batch IPS was appointed as IG, northern range at Sambalpur, Amitabh Thakur (1998) has been posted in place of Nath as IG, modernization. 1990-batch IPS Ghanshyam Upadhyay is new IG, southern range at Berhampur.

Similarly, Vinoytosh Mishra (1993) is posted as IG, eastern range at Balasore. Nikhil Kumar Kanodia (2003) was moved as DIG, BPSPA while his batch mate Kavita Jalan was transferred as DIG, Rourkela.
Besides, Cuttack DCP Sanjeev Arora and Sambalpur SP Akhilesvar Singh exchanged their positions as part of the reshuffle. Anirudh Kumar Singh transferred as SP, Mayurbhanj while Umashankar Dash moved to Rourkela as SP. Prakash R is new SP, Jharsuguda.

Other IPS officers, who were transferred, include Brijesh Kumar Rai as SP, Angul, Charan Singh Meena (Jajpur), Mitrabhanu Mohapatra (Kandhamal), Kanwar Vishal Singh (Koraput), K Siva Subramani (Balangir), Ashis Kumar Singh (Nayagarh), Pinak Mishra (Sundargarh), Battula Gangadhar (Deogarh), Sudhansu Sekhar Mishra (Boudh), Madkar Sandeep Sampat (Kalahandi), Rahul PR (Rayagada), Parmar Smit Parshottamdas (Nuapada), Jagmohan Meena (Malkangiri), Mukesh Kumar Brahmoo (Nabarngapur), Dipti Ranjan Ray (in-charge, Khurda).

Among others, Sarah Sharma has been posted as principal, police training institute, Byree while Anupama James transferred as DCP (headquarters) of the commissionerate police, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack.
