Bhubaneswar: Odisha slipped to 11th place in the latest ease of doing business ranking published by Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) under the Ministry of Commerce, a report released by department minister Nirmala Sitaraman said on Monday.
State slipped four places below ranking released earlier in September last year when it scored 52.12 points standing at seventh.
The ranking are based on the 340 point business reform action plan covering from July 2015 up until June 2016.
While both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were tied at first place with 98.78 per cent, with the former thumping a huge leap from 13th position last time around to first this year to catch everyone’s attention the usual number one Gujarat slipped two places down to third.
While for Odisha who secured a 92.73 per cent and consequent a 13th rank might sound disappointing but overall stats said states have been more concerned on addressing their challenges to make business easier. This could be proved form the fact that national average implementation stands at 48.93 per cent rising from 32 per cent last year.
