Bhubaneswar: The Buddhist Circuit in Odisha that is formed with Lalitgiri, Udaygiri and Ratnagiri may soon be included in the central government’s Swadesh Darshan scheme. State government has proposed to include the sites in the scheme, informed Culture and Tourism minister, Ashok Chandra Panda.
Panda informed that a budget of Rs 78 crores has been allocated for 357 tourism sites of the state. Also, beach tourism will be developed from Gopalpur to Satapada for which a separate Rs 80 crore project proposal has been submitted to the central government.
In reply to a question in the Assembly, Panda said the above. He added that the Air Asia direct flight from Bhubaneswar to Kuala Lumpur will begin from April 26.
