Bhubaneswar: The second phase of the Budget Session of Odisha Legislative Assembly would commence today and continue till May 5.
According to the Assembly calendar, the Appropriation Bill of the full Annual Budget 2018 would be passed on April 30 following Demands for Grants discussion to begin on Thursday.
Like the first phase, the second phase is likely to be stormy as Opposition Congress and BJP have decided to come down heavily on the State Government on various issues.
“Among many issues, we will raise the matters of Government failing to provide drinking water to people and the deteriorating law and order situation in the State,” said Opposition leader Narasingha Mihsra.
“Detailed deliberation regarding departmental allocation of funds as well as other important issues including the Mahanadi dispute would take place,” said Government Chief Whip Amar Prasad Satpathy.
