Odia youth breaks three Guinness World Records
Berhampur: Manoj Kumar Maharana from Bhabarada village of Polsara block in Ganjam district has set a new record by earning a place in the Guinness World Records by breaking three records.
Manoj earned his place in the Guinness World Record, by stuffing 533 drinking straws in his mouth and keeping it for 30 seconds. He broke the previous record of Har Parkash of Mumbai who stuffed 496 straws in his mouth.
He broke the second record by holding 40 lit candles in his mouth for 40 seconds, breaking Mumbai’s Dinesh Shivnath’s record of holding 37 candles in his mouth for 30 seconds.
Manoj then made his third record by flipping a 6.5 centimetre long toothpick in his mouth for 32 minutes and rotated the toothpick in 360-degree angle.
He earned all these records by showcasing these tricks in the presence of Berhampur Tehsildar Dayamaya Padhi, Assistant Commissioner of Commercial Tax and GST Bibhudutta Acharya, BDA (Berhampur Development Authority) Secretary Sambit Kumar Rout and All India Radio, Berhampur Programme head Hrusikesh Panigrahi, at a show held at private computer institute here.
Manoj’s success has put his family and friends on cloud nine.
