Poverty-stricken

New Delhi/ Bhubaneswar: Body of an Odia doctor working at Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital was found hanging at his rented house in New Delhi today.

The deceased has been identified as Sidharth Shankar Mohapatra (26) of Puri district.

According to reports, the body of Sidharth was found hanging under mysterious circumstances from the fan hook of the ceiling in his residence at plot no- 1/9, second floor, Old Rajendra Nagar in Odisha capital. The body was recovered at around 8:28 am this morning.

A handwritten letter has been recovered from the spot, following which police suspect it to be a case of suicide. However, a probe has been launched in connection with the incident.

Sidharth was working as NSC (Anaesthesia) and was staying along with two other RML doctors at the flat.

However, none of them was present in the house when the incident took place. While one of the doctors has gone to his hometown in Jharkhand, the other one was on night duty at the hospital.
