People who follow popular online digital entertainment channel ‘The Viral Fever’ which is popularly known as TVF, would find an Odia character in their new show ‘Bisht Please’ that was released today through their app and website. However, unlike normal Bollywood or other entertainment industries that portray a character in a stereotyped way, this show has shown the character Digambar Mohanty alias Donny in a modern and progressive way.
Moreover, there have been several Odia dialogues used by the character played by Tushar Pandey and his girlfriend. The show is about a small town so called good girl Neetu Bisht played by Nidhi Bisht who has been dumped by Donny for another girl who has done her postgraduation from Harvard in Medicine and is doing PhD in Odia literature.
Not only the dialogues like “hey Bhagwan, motey kehi kebe bujhi paribeni ki’, “hau…dekha haba”, “Kichhi khaiba?’, “pakhalare chingudi miseiki khaideba” will give Odia feel. Besides, the makers have tried to create an Odia environment like Donny has written ‘Di’ and ‘Maa’ on both his hands in Odia scripts and a poster of an Odia film ‘Shapath” can be seen hanging on the wall while Donny is talking to Neetu, where she reminds him of coming from Dhenkanal after cyclone.
It gives a fresh feel that a national level show has Odia character portrayed in a progressive way. One of the co-writer of the TVF series Biswapati Sarkar has spent his formative years in Rourkela.
