Cuttack: Elections for various posts in the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) are likely to be held by the end of November as per the Lodha Committee recommendations.
This has been decided in a meeting of OCA council here today after all the sitting officials unanimously nodded to follow the recommendations made by the Lodha panel.
OCA working committee chairman Dhiren Palai informed mediapersons that the council is ready to conduct elections. An affidavit will be filed in the Supreme Court within a couple of days stating that the council abides by the reforms of Lodha Committee and the process will be over by November.
The BCCI and other state cricket bodies have no other choice left but to follow the panel’s guidelines as the apex court has ruled that no funds will be released to any of the state cricket body until they hold elections.
Only three state cricket bodies have completed the polls so far but they are yet to get funds, said Palai.
The elections were necessitated following resignation of Ranjib Biswal and Asirbad Behera as OCA president and secretary respectively.
