Norwester rains likely to drench coastal Odisha in coming 24 hours: MeT Centre


Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre today predicted Nor’wester (locally termed as Kalabaisakhi) rains in coastal parts and nearby places with thunder in next 24 hours.

The thundershower is likely to occur with wind speed at 50-60 km/hr during the Nor’wester rains in the coastal districts of Odisha and its neighboring districts, forecasted the Meteorological Centre.

The sky will remain partly cloudy and thunderstorm is likely to drench coastal and north-east region of Odisha on Monday, said Director Sarat Chandra Sahoo.

Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperature is assumed to be around 35 degrees C and 23 degrees C respectively, he added.

However, Jharsuguda has been recorded with 39.8 degree Celsius till 12 pm while Sambalpur was at 36.4 degree Celsius.
