Patna: The Bihar Raj Bhavan witnessed the expansion of the newly formed Bihar government on Saturday evening.
12 MLAs from BJP, one MLA from Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) and 14 from Janata Dal (United) (JDU) took oath as ministers, just a few days after a political crisis loomed large over the state.
On July 27, Nitish Kumar won the floor test with 131 votes in favour, against 108.
Nitish-led NDA government in the state has support of 132 MLAs.
On Thursday, Nitish and BJP leader Sushil Modi were sworn-in as Bihar Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister respectively, and former has been asked to prove his majority on the floor by Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi.
Nitish, on July 26, resigned as Bihar Chief Minister citing political differences with former ally, Lalu Prasad Yadav led Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), over corruption charges against the RJD supremo’s son Tejashwi Yadav.
