New Delhi: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is all set to release the new version of the Rs 100 note by next month, according to news reports. The size of the new note will be smaller than the old note and it will be in violet colour.
The new note will house the impression of Gujarat’s Rani Ki Vav (stepwell), said a news report. It is also learnt that the dimension of this currency will be little bigger than Rs 10 note.
According to the report, the circulation of the old Rs 100 currency notes will not be affected by the introduction of the new note.
Reportedly the printing of the new Rs 100 note has started in the printing press of Dewas in Madhya Pradesh. The new design was given final shape at the printing press, where the Rs 2000 notes are also printed.
