Naveen urges Railway Min for more trains to Nayagarh
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday wrote a letter to Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu demanding for more trains to Nayagarh. Patnaik also demanded expediting of the pending railway projects and a daily Bhubaneswar-Mumbai train named after legendary Odia revolutionary Buxi Jagabandhu.
The CM appreciated Prabhu for the new rail connectivity to Nayagarh via Bolagarh as part of the Khurda Bolangir rail line project. He requested the Minister to increase the number of trains from two passenger trains to one express train each to Howrah and Visakhapatnam.
He suggested the Bhubaneswar Howrah Garib Rath Express to be extended up to Nayagarh town and an intercity type train be introduced to give people of Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Boudh and Ganjam, access to coastal belt of the State and the hubs like Howrah and Visakapatnam.
The Chief Minister also reminded Prabhu about re-commissioning of train lines between Paralakhemundi and Kashinagar stations and the Nawapada-Gunpur railway line.
