Naveen meets Odia passengers injured in Utkal Express mishap
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today visited the Capital Hospital here and met the five Odia passengers who were injured in the Puri- Haridwar Utkal Express derailment on Saturday.
Health Minister Pratap Jena and Bhubaneswar Mayor Ananta Narayn Jena were with the CM during his visit to the five injured Odia passengers.
Patnaik asked the injured about their health condition and wished their speedy recovery.
After meeting the admitted persons, Patnaik said, “The Odia passengers who were injured in the Puri- Haridwar Utkal Express derailment in Muzzafarnagar are recovering fast.”
The state government would bear the treatment expenditure of the injured passengers, informed the Health Minister.
The five passengers have been identified as Madhu Mandal, Amiya Das, Debendra Das, Jatri Das, Mubarak Ali and Sabita Mallick.
The five-member team, led by Transport Minister Nrusingha Sahu, had brought the injured Odias back to the state yesterday. As many as 23 people were killed and around 150 were injured in the train accident.
