New Delhi: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik who is on a five day visit to New Delhi today met BJD MPs. While the Twitter fights between some party MPs and speculations fueled by BJP leaders about a possible split in BJD were expected to be discussed, Naveen said it was a routine meeting and there are no differences within party members.
The MPs meeting was held at the BJD office in Parliament where all BJD MPs except Dilip Tirkey, who is unwell, were present. The discussion went on for a long time. Naveen however said it was a discussion about issues to be presented at the Parliament sessions.
He also straight forwardly denied any difference of opinion within party members. The Twitter argument between MP Tathagat Satpathy and Baijayant Panda and BJP leader Jual Oram’s remarks that BJD members are trying to join BJP had sparked off speculations of infights in BJD.
Apart from the meeting with MPs, Naveen also met West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee at the Central hall of Parliament. The sudden meeting of the two neighbouring chief ministers is rumoured to be regarding the ensuing President election.
