Berhampur: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today visited Berhampur city and inaugurated a number of welfare projects on the occasion of Local Self-Governance Day.
Patnaik attended various programmes including ‘Ama Gaon Ama Vikash’ at Jagannathpur and laid foundation stones of several projects in Ganjam.
He unveiled multiple projects of Berhampur Municipal Corporation, which celebrated its 150th anniversary today.
He also discussed with locals regarding various issues.
Police had tightened security in the district ahead of CM’s visit.
However, the Chief Minister was opposed by BJP workers by showing black flag.
Several BJP workers were detained for showing black flags to the chief minister during his visit.
Later, they were released after Naveen’s return.
