Bhubaneswar: As a Dussehra bonanza, the Odisha government today announced to implement the recommendations of 7th pay commission for its employees.
“My government has decided to implement the recommendations of the committee constituted for examination of 7th Central Pay Commission Report and its adoption for the state government employees,” said Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
About 4.5 lakh serving state government employees and 3.5 lakh retired state government employees will get enhanced emoluments and higher pensions respectively. Annual additional expenditure on this count would be about Rs 4500 crores, he added.
Government employees will get the pay hike from September month salary onwards, he concluded.
The Chief Minister has instructed to implement the 7th Pay Commission Recommendations from 1 January 2016.
The employees will get their enhanced pay for the month of September on 26 September as Dussehra holidays start from 27 onwards, informed sources.
