Bhubaneswar: “Odisha government is giving priority to farmers, women and youths,” said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in his independence speech at the Parade Ground on Mahatma Gandhi Marg today.
The Chief Minister arrived at the venue and hoisted the Tricolour before addressing the gathering. He paid tributes to freedom fighters and martyred soldiers in his speech.
The CM said that loans will be given to farmers at one per cent interest. He also said that the ambitious Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana will be rolled out in the state from today. About 70 lakh families will be benefited from the health scheme, he added.
Patnaik said the state is marching ahead on the growth path and our focus is to take it to the next level. Highlighting the success of the Asian Athletics Championships in Bhubaneswar, he said it is a matter of pride that the city is going to host the Hockey World Cup in November this year.
Earlier in the day, the CM greeted the people of Odisha on the occasion of Independence Day. Taking to Twitter he wrote, ”Wishes on 72nd #IndependenceDay. Let’s remember to upkeep high principles of our freedom fighters & safeguard peace & unity above all.”
