Bhubaneswar: Leader of Opposition (LoP) Narasingha Mishra has urged Chief Minister (CM) Naveen Patnaik for initiating immediate steps to enforce the Odisha Lokayukta Act is the latter is ‘really serious to convince people’ that he wants to end corruption in the state.
In a letter on Tuesday, Mishra pointed out that the Act has already received the assent of the President of India and is awaiting a Government notification for implementation.
“Your move to abolish PC (percentage) in Government offices will be a grand success if you are really concerned in the matter. All blocks in the State are the hideouts of corruption where PC system is rampant, no file moves without money transaction”, Mishra stated to the CM.
He said that so long as a notification is not issued, the Lokayukta Act will not come into force. It is already abnormally delayed.
