Bhubaneswar: With the matriculation exams to start from 28 February in Odisha, question papers have been dispatched to all the 295 nodal centres.
This year 6,08,690 students will appear for the Matric exams at 2,938 centres. The exams will begin at 8. 30 am and will continue till 11 am. Additional 15 minutes will be given to students for Math paper. On Tuesday, students will sit for First Language Odia paper.
To conduct the exams fairly, special arrangements have been made to control malpractice or cheating by students. A three level squad has been formed for this purpose. While the Board has formed 36 independent squads, six branches of the Board have formed a squad each and 57 squads by district level educational officers.
Security has been beefed up in all the nodal centres of the State. 56 squads, 6 zonal squads, 36 special squads are being deployed at the nodal centres.
Special arrangements are made for the security of the question papers in the Mao-infested areas.
Besides, The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has also planned to set up 16 hour control rooms for smooth conduct and monitoring of the examination. The control rooms will function at BSE headquarters as well as at the zonal offices from February 27 to March 10. During this period, control room will function from 6 am to 10 pm every day.
These control rooms will be managed in two shifts. Six employees will work in each shift at the BSE headquarters located at Bajrakabati in Cuttack city, while three officials will be engaged at each control room at five zonal offices.
It may be noted here that the HSC examination will begin from February 28 and would conclude on March 10.
