Malkangiri: Maoists gunned down a person after a Praja court trial in Malkangiri district of Odisha late on Friday night branding him a ‘police informer’.
The deceased has been identified as Dambaru Nayak of Kurub village under Kalimela police limits in the district.
According to reports, around 25 armed Maoists barged into the victim’s house and took him to a ‘praja court’ in the village. He was branded and a police informer and gunned down, a villager said on condition of anonymity.
Nayak, who was a former supporter of the red rebels, had started distancing himself from the left wing extremists for last two years and leading a normal life, the villager added.
