Man throws hot oil at tea seller for delay in service, arrested

Nayagarh: In a shocking incident, a tea seller sustained critical scald injuries after a man allegedly threw hot oil on him at Bakalabandha village in Nayagarh district on Friday.

The victim has been identified as Krushna Chandra Sahu and the accused customer has been identified as Jugal Baral of the nearby village.

According to sources, Jugal ordered for a tea at the stall but Krushna delayed in serving tea as his shop was crowded. Irked over the delay, Jugal allegedly threatened the victim and later threw hot oil on him.

Krushna was rushed to Nayagarh district headquarters hospital (DHH) with 45 per cent scald injuries. His health condition has been stated to be critical, sources added.

Meanwhile, police have also arrested the accused customer. While a case has been registered against Jugal, an investigation into the incident is underway, said the sources.
