Bhubaneswar: A low pressure area is likely to form over Northwest Bay of Bengal and neighborhood during next 24 hrs that may trigger heavy rain in most places over the districts of South Odisha, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre said on Sunday.
The Met office also predicted rain at many places over the districts of North Odisha during next 24 hours under the impact of the low pressure.
Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at one or places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Sonepur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Bargarh, Khurda and Nayagarh districts of Odisha on Sunday, the special bulletin of the Met office said.
Similarly, heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at one or two places of Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Sambalpur, Boudh, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack districts on Monday. Besides, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Angul, Kendrapara, Deogarh Sonepur, Jharsuguda and Bargarh districts may also experience rain on Monday.
On Tuesday, heavy to very heavy with extremely heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Bhadrak, Keonjhar and Sambalpur districts.
Besides, heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over Puri, Khurda, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh, Angul, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Boudh, Bargarh, Kalahandi and Kandhamal districts of Odisha on Tuesday.
Moreover, heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and Sambalpur districts on Wednesday.
The weatherman has advised fishermen whoever is in deep sea to return to the coast by tonight. They are also advised not to venture into the sea along and off Odisha coasts and Northwest and adjoining Bay of Bengal from tonight to August 15 morning.
