Bhubaneswar: Under the influence of low pressure formed over South East Bay of Bengal and South Andaman there is likelihood of rains in some parts of Odisha, the meteorological department on Tuesday said.
The low pressure is likely to intensify into a depression in the next 24 hours by December 8 as the weather department is yet to confirm its effect in state. Meanwhile, cold waves have again resurfaced with temperature plummeting in some parts of the state.
Daringbadi in Kandhamal district recorded the lowest temperature at 8.5 degree Celsius while Phulbani felt temperature as low as 10.6 degree Celsius. Similarly, Angul recorded 11.8, Sundargarh-12, Bhawanipatna-12.2 and Koraput-13 degree Celsius.
Met Director Sarat Chandra Sahu said cold waves will continue to be felt up to December 8 after which there would be marginal fall in mercury due to the low pressure.
