Bhubaneswar: Lecturers and staff of 488-category block grant colleges withdrew the strike and agreed to cooperate for conducting +2 examinations after getting assurance from government.
The strike withdrawal decision was taken after a discussion with School and Mass education Minister Debi Mishra in the secretariat on Saturday.
Thinking over the future of 3 lakh students, the strike was dismissed and following the assurance from government the agitated lecturers agreed to participate in examination beginning from March 6, said Pabitra Mahala, chief of the lecturers’ body.
They were assured of block grant system abolition and will be granted a regular status within next 3 months.
Apart from that the plus II examinations is all set to start from Monday by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) and the exam will be conducted amid tight security arrangements.
