Lawyers-cops spat: HC lawyers to continue cease work stir
Cuttack: The lawyers of Orissa High Court Bar Association have decided to continue their indefinite cease work stir till September 10 over the assault of a lawyer by Chauliaganj police personnel.
The move came at general council meeting of the Bar Association held here today.
“A meeting with representatives of all bar associations in State will be held on September 8 following which the further course of action will be decided, informed Bar Association president Srikant Nayak.
The lawyers association had called for cease work strike on August 30 till arrest of the cops for attacking a lawyer in Cuttack.
Later, Cuttack DCP Akhileswar Singh suspended two Constables and a Havildar in connection with the attack on a lawyer by cops at Nua Bazaar bridge here on August 28 morning.
