DCP Singh informed the media that Constables Dilip Kumar Samal and Uday Kumar Bhuyan and Havildar Prasanna Kumar Behera have been placed under suspension for police excesses.
Besides, departmental action has been initiated against and a one-month notice has been served to Home Guard Kishore Samal seeking his explanation, Singh said, adding that four cases (215/18, 216/18, 217/18 & 218/18) have been registered in this connection.
He further said, “In order to ensure free, fair and impartial enquiry into the matter, additional DCP Gupta Mahakud has been entrusted with the enquiry. After due enquiry, he has submitted the preliminary enquiry report and basing on the preliminary enquiry report, the suspension has been slapped.”
On the other hand, the Orissa High Court Bar Association today resorted to a cease-work agitation today protesting the ‘police atrocities’.
