Bhubaneswar: The Shahid Laxman Nayak Medical College in Koraput has got its first student for MBBS seats for 2017-18 academic sessions.
Aparna MJ, a student from Kerala has been admitted to the SLN Medical College, Koraput to pursue MBBS programme, reported by the Health and Family Welfare Department.
Notably, the SLN Medical College and Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College in Baripada are on the run for executing admission procedure and begin academic sessions from this year in full fledge.
Earlier, the apex court has directed both Baripada and SLN Medical Colleges to expedite admission process against 100 MBBS undergraduate seats for the 2017-18 academic sessions.
Among the upcoming medical colleges in the state, after repeated reminders by CM Naveen Patnaik, the Koraput and Baripada medical college were given clearance by the MCI to begin classes for the academic session this year.
