Kozhikode: Kerala Transport Minister AK Saseendran resigned on Sunday after an audio emerged in which he is heard having a lewd conversation with a woman on phone.
A five-time legislator from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), the minister announced the resignation at Kozhikode. The audio was released by Mangalam TV today afternoon, as per sources.
He also said that his resignation should not be taken as an admission of guilt.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said he had taken the report seriously and after examining all facts, a decision will be taken.
Meanwhile, last year, CPI-M strongman and Industries Minister EP Jayarajan quit on charges of nepotism.
