Kendrapara: Kendrapara BJD Minority Cell President Muzib Baksh, who had been newly-appointed, resigned from the post on Wednesday after allegations of embezzlement of midday meal scheme rice against him came was brought to light by media.
Baksh said he took the decision not to tarnish the party’s clean image. “My rivals hatched a conspiracy against me. I have tendered my resignation to the State president of the Minority Cell Munna Khan,” he said.He had been appointed Kendrapada BJD Minority Cell president in May even though he was accused of MDM rice misappropriation.
He allegedly embezzled rice worth over Rs 50 lakh meant for midday meal. A case was also registered with police by the School and Mass Education Department in this connection.
BJP State spokesperson Sajjan Sharma on Wednesday demanded that Baksh be arrested for the heinous offence of misappropriation of rice meant for innocent children.
